MEET SARAH

I’ve called Duluth home for 26 years. This is where my family planted roots after immigrating from South Korea when I was a teenager. Today, I live just a mile and a half from the house where I grew up, raising my two children with my husband while caring for my parents and running our coffee shop in downtown Duluth.

As a working mom, daughter, and small business owner, I know firsthand the joys and challenges Duluth families face. I’ve worked in county government, led nonprofits, and served as an interpreter and advocate — always putting people first, solving problems, and connecting neighbors to the resources they need.

When tragedy struck our community, I stepped up. After the Atlanta Spa Shooting, I helped bring people together from diverse backgrounds to support one another and foster healing. That experience reinforced my belief that real leadership is about listening, building trust, and finding common ground to move forward together.

I am running for City Council to keep Duluth safe, welcoming, and thriving. I will always put people over politics, lead with integrity, transparency and accountability. I will work to ensure Duluth remains a city where families prosper, small businesses grow, and everyone feels proud to call home.
